R+L Global Logistics is currently accepting applications for our Logistics Internship in Fort Myers, FL. Logistics Interns will be able to apply textbook knowledge to challenging experiences within the Logistics and Supply Chain industry.

Full-time and Part-time options available.

Logistics Intern Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Senior Account Executives in researching and identifying potential customers and carriers for the organization
  • Negotiate rates and quotes to capture business and propose the best possible logistics solution for the customer and carrier in regards to full truckload freight and our other specialty services
  • Respond to shippers, carriers, and drivers regarding the dispatch of freight, pick-up's, deliveries, and tracking  and tracing their freight based needs

Logistics Intern Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deliver stellar customer service to our shippers, carriers, and drivers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a positive and energetic attitude in the workplace
  • Work both independently and within group settings
  • Effective negotiation skills with a competitive nature to win
  • Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints

Summary of Logistics Intern Experience and Education

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college in the field(s) of:  business, marketing, logistics, transportation, supply chain, international business, or other related business programs
  • Previous customer service, sales, business development, negotiation or other business related work experiences a plus
  • The ability to read, write, and speak multiple languages fluently  is a plus but not required
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, Internet and other spreadsheet application knowledge
